'The Sofa' the first movie written and directed by Meltem Parlak is based on the story of a woman called Meryem who decides to get a divorce from her husband after finding out he's been unfaithful. The film focuses on the dialogs between Meryem and her psychologist:- the hurt and anger, a woman's dilemma between love and pride, her denial and the use of humor to deflect the feelings and emotions. How did it come to this? What now the future? And will she ever love again... or be loved? Dr. Sadi listens with sincerity and patience he is gentle and tolerant, Meryem feels comforted and yet confused as she searches for the answers.
