The adventures of captain Mihály Tímár, who aids a persecuted Turkish Pasha and his daughter in their escape across the Donau. After the Pasha dies, the captain acquires his fortune and marries his daughter. She loves officer Kadisa, yet remains faithful but distant to Tímár. During his passage along the Donau, Tímár met Noémi, and when he returns they eventually fall in love. How will his double life unfold?
