The story revolves around a statue which comes to life and kills people at night. King Raja Vamana Varma is killed mysteriously and it is believed it is he who possesses the statue and is the reason for murders including that of a anthropologist and a police officer. Officers Rajendran and Gupta are sent by central government to investigate the murders. The rest of the story unfolds the various methods the officers follow to unlock the mystery along with romance and introduction of a look alike of the investigating officer.
