After the mysterious brutal attack of a local college co-ed, Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt discovered he is descendant of an elite line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms," charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world. As he tries to hide the dangers of his new found calling from his fiancé, Juliette Silverton, and his partner, Hank Griffin, he becomes ever more entrenched in the ancient rivalries and alliances of the Grimm world. With help from his reluctant confidant, Monroe, a reformed Grimm creature himself, Nick must navigate through the forces of a larger-than-life mythology.

Happily Ever Aftermath
The crook Bernard Aidikoff commits suicide when the police officers come to arrest him for a Ponzi scheme. The investor Arthur Jarvis summons his friend Spencer Harrison and explains that he had invested all the money with Aidikoff and he is broken. Spencer tells him to borrow money from Mavis Kerfield that is the stepmother of his wife Lucinda. Arthur visits his mother-in-law and she refuses to lend money to him. During the night, Mavis is visited by a frightening creature that emits a loud scream and she falls over the balcony of her house and dies in the middle of broken crystals from her chandelier. On the next morning, her daughter Tiffany finds her body and Nick and Hank investigate the case. They interview her two sisters and Arthur, Lucinda and Spencer, and nick suspects of Spencer, who is a bat-like creature named Murciélado Matraca. Meanwhile Juliette snoops around the murder of Nick's parents and the detective in charge of the investigation tells that the case was reclassified as homicide many years ago and sends the pictures of the four suspects.

Three Bigfoot hunters are looking for Bigfoot in the forest. Out of the blue, a creature attacks them and only the woman survives. Meanwhile, the horses' breeder Thom Carson sees something attacking the horses and he shoots with his gun. He finds one horse wounded and he calls the veterinary Juliette Silverton. Soon they find the bodies of the two hunters and Juliette summons Nick. They find the girl that survived the attack and she tells that the Bigfoot attacked them. Meanwhile Monroe is awakened during the night and he finds his friend Larry inside the house shot in the leg in the Wildermann form. Larry tells that he can not get back to the human form. Monroe calls Nick and Larry dies. Soon there are other attacks in the city and in common, all the Wildermann are client of the psychologist Constantine Brinkerhof. Nick decides to investigate the psychologist and soon he discovers that Brinkerhof is performing medical experiments with the Wildermann to help them to control their impulses.

When the body is found by the chambermaid, Nick and Hank see the photos and send Sergeant Wu to Renard's apartment, but Akira is torturing him. A mysterious woman in black is tracking Akira's steps. Meanwhile Juliette is scratched by Adalind's cat in her clinic. When Nick is aware of the happening, he wants to take Juliette to a hospital, but she refuses to go. Nick decides to bring Juliette to his trailer and disclose his secret to her to convince Juliette how dangerous Adalind is. What will be the reaction of Juliette?

Nick is delighted when Juliette, who still can't remember him, invites over for a home cooked dinner to get acquainted all over. But he's called away urgently by Monroe, who has a feral visitor: a ruthless killer, yet also a friend of his, who only pretended to take a contract for Monroe's death to warn him after 'accidentally' killing the initial hit man. Nick, who wants her for at least two earlier murders, grudgingly cooperates, going so far as to allow her to pretend to be his partner. To get to the royal presumed to have hired the killer, Monroe must fake his death with a potentially lethal potion, instructed over the phone by Rosalee, who visits a very ill relative, after a dream date with Monroe. The royal is in awkward league with Renard.

Season of the Hexenbiest
Nick is shocked about Juliette's infidelity, which she can't explain, yet sort of accepts it and ends up moving out to his heritage trailer. Meanwhile Adalind and a pack of canine Wesen almost hunt down Renard for the key, and he locates Nick's trailer after allowing him to lock up Adalind.

Monroe helps work out what rare Wesen could be behind it. Renard is preoccupied with royalty parties rivalry.

Ranchhand John is killed while accidentally bumping at night into Vincent, a blue-fluorescent feral performing one of the 27 raids on cows that went from Nebraska to Portland, actually harvesting bovine ovaries for his pregnant mate Jocelyn, with whom he keeps moving and hiding. Besides Nick, the case seems to be followed only by an 'ufologist' or alien-hunter, who in fact chases the very feral species. Monroe recognizes the print Nick made from his key as part of a medieval map as Swabia, Renard explains the keys combine into a map to a terrible treasure hidden by seven crusader Grimms. Juliette swears Monroe to secrecy, being insecure about her reemerging love memories.

As he feared, they are created by the voodoo 'baron', who sets a trap as instructed. Captain Sean Renard informs Nick about his mistrusting meeting with visiting European royal half-brother Eric and the counterfeit documents Eric had prepared at the castle. Still in Vienna, Adalind, poisoned by Pech to switch appearances, is seen roughly overtaken by the gypsy witch's family Popescu. Rosalee prepares a zombie antidote, but once tracked down in the port, the superior zombie numbers corner down Nick's party.

Analind continues the disgusting ritual under Popescu's macabre instructions and thus proves her magical potential.

The Inheritance
Reluctantly, young Josh Porter brought his dying father Rolek from Pennsylvania to Portland to meet Nick and hand him a trunk. They must run being attacked in their hotel by a Verrat henchman, whom Rolek manages to stab fatally. In Nick's absence, Trubel goes with Josh and finds Rolek a Grimm, the trunk full of fascinating stuff, but the dying man also mentions a key. Adalind seduces Renard again but betrays him to sneakily get Juleier's organic material for a transformation potion. Despite the advanced wedding preparations, Rosalee gets a terrible premonition.

Nick, Wu and Hank investigate the latest in a series of robbery-murders apparently committed by elusive couples seducing male victims in rented rooms, which fits a rare feral species' incomplete description. Helped by Monroe, who reluctantly acts as undercover bait for the couple, which operates under the names Linus and Stacy Balouzian, Nick rightly suspects the use of transvestite bars is more key then clue. Suffering from violent phantom bleeding during and after nightmares, Renard turns to Monroe and Rosalee's apothecary practice, but finds this requires the magic of his mother's grimoire, which can only be opened with Hexenbiest blood, which he collects as rent from Juliette who needs a host having left Nick indefinitely. Adalind is desperate, knowing she's pregnant again, when king Frederick wants to leave her I the search party in Portland while dragging Victor, whom she wants to act as father, back to Vienna.
