Heavy Metal
Cameron shows Sarah and John a picture of the skull of the Terminator Cromartie in the present days (2007) possibly with intact chip; further that a shipment of the alloy Coltan, which is used for constructing the skeleton of the machines, is being transported to the Port of Los Angeles due to an accident in the original destination harbor. She concludes that Cromartie is behind these events, and Sarah decides to move from Los Angeles. However, John, who is having problems dealing with the death of his suicidal schoolmate Jordan Cowan, tells her that they should fight while Cromartie is vulnerable. They keep the depot in the harbor under their surveillance and witness an armed group robbing the metal. When John decides to plant a cell phone in the truck to track it, he is trapped in the truck with the criminals that drive to a distant military facility. Meanwhile Cromartie forces a plastic surgeon to operate his face using the identity of the aspirant actor George Laszlo, killing him after the surgery. Agent James Ellison follows his hunch but his superiors do not accept the basis of his investigation.

Queen's Gambit
Sarah meets Andy Goode and he tells her that he has rebuilt a new version of his computer, the Turk II, and he will participate of a chess tournament where the winner will sign a contract with the government for military purpose. Meanwhile Cromartie lures Charley Dixon, pretending to be an FBI agent and trying to get information about Sarah Connor. When Andy loses the competition and is found dead by Sarah, she fights against a stranger she assumes is the criminal. The man is arrested but later Sarah finds that he is a member of the resistance and her brother-in-law sent by John from the future. Sarah, John and Cameron face a dangerous terminator while trying to rescue Derek Reese

Dungeons & Dragons
With Derek Reese severely injured, John calls on Sarah's former fiancé Charlie Dixon, an EMT, to provide medical assistance. Sarah finds herself having to explain where she has been for the last 8 years and just who Derek is and where he is from. In flashbacks (of a sort) we learn of Derek's life in the future as a resistance fighter, his relationship with John Connor, and of his travel back in time with a team sent to help Sarah and John. Derek doesn't know that his brother Kyle is John's father.

The Demon Hand
While Derek Reese is recovering from his wounds, Cameron tries to recover the missing cyborg hand to ensure all remnants of the Terminator have been destroyed. Sarah learns that it is now in the possession of the FBI, specifically Special Agent James Ellison. She breaks into Ellison's apartment to find that he has extensive information about her, including videotaped interviews from when she was hospitalized. Derek continues to see Cameron as a threat and tells Sarah to make her leave. Agent Ellison visits Sarah's one-time psychiatrist, but faces a surprising reception. Cameron gets a lead on the location of the Turk, but not without a cost.

What He Beheld
