What started as a celebration of ESPN's 30th anniversary has come to life as an eclectic and fascinating collection of passionate films about sports and culture. Individually, each of the films in this series is meant to tell an intimate, compelling story that stands on its own and brings to life the filmmaker's vision. Collectively, however, these creatively different films weave together a diverse tapestry of what sports has meant to culture. Ultimately, 30 For 30 strives to sit the viewer down and tell a story, employing many sources but giving a distinctive point of view, marshaling words and images to serve that particular perspective. In the most in-depth television documentation of the lives of Little People, the series follows the Roloffs - an extraordinary family composed of both little and average-sized people. Over six months and for 10 hours per day, the series captured the family's everyday successes and struggles. The result is an intimate view of life as a Little Person. Parents Matt and Amy Roloff are both little people - 4 feet tall - but they are determined to succeed in a world that isn't always accepting of differences. Matt has risen through the ranks of the business world, closing deals with some of Silicon Valley's most well-known companies. After being laid off, Matt decided to pursue his dream of owning his own business. Originally a stay-at-home mom but now holding down two jobs, Amy has raised four children: 15-year-old twins, Jeremy and Zach (Jeremy is average height and Zach is a little person), 12-year-old Molly and 8-year-old Jacob. Together they own and operate Roloff Farms, a sprawling 34-acre farm in Oregon. The Roloffs' accomplishments belie a hard truth: for little people, every day is a challenge. Driving a car, seeing over the counter at a bank or even making a simple trip to the grocery store can quickly become a test in a world that wasn't made for them. In Little People, Big World, viewers look into the lives of the Roloffs as they face the pressure of being little in an average-sized world.

Ric Burns (brother of the famed documentarian Ken Burns) presents an exhaustive history of New York City from the settling of the area by the Dutch to the attack by terrorists nearly 400 years later. Told in a sentimental tone, Burns weaves a lyrical tale of the great metropolis that encompasses not only the city's streets, but also that of the history of America. 3D technology reveals a whole new dimension in the lives of plants, from the most bizarre to the most beautiful. In this sensational series, shot over the course of a year, David Attenborough explores their fascinating world. Using 3D time-lapse and pioneering techniques in 3D macro photography, he traces them from their beginnings on land to their vital place in nature today, exposing new revelations along the way. He moves from our time scale to theirs, revealing the true nature of plants as creatures that are every bit as dynamic and aggressive as animals. David discovers a microscopic world that's invisible to the naked eye, where insects feed and breed, where flowers fluoresce and where plants communicate with each other and with animals using scent and sound. He meets the extraordinary animals and fungi that have unbreakable ties with the plant world, from hawk moths and bats to tiny poison dart frogs, a giant tortoise and a fungus that can control the mind. And he does all this in one unique place, a microcosm of the whole plant world where, some 90% of all known plant species are represented: The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. This spectacular adventure through the Kingdom of Plants is so immersive and compelling it has the capacity to amaze even the least green-fingered.

On a unique underwater voyage spanning millions of years in prehistory, our dauntless presenter explores seven different seas, encountering an extraordinary variety of underwater life from seven different eras. His journey culminates in the late Cretaceous period - the most dangerous period ever in the ocean; the time of the awesome mosasaurs, a 20-metre-long monster with a mouth that could bite a tree in half. Before this period there are many other challenges the explorer must tackle first. In the Triassic period 230 million years ago, he meets and attempts to feed a six-metre nothosaur and the serpent-necked tanystropheus. Further back 400 million years ago and the plants have yet to evolve. The seas are terrorised by giant sea scorpions and even more monstrous, the 12-metre long tentacled orthocones. How does our expert plan to approach these terrible creatures?

This program is made by the Discovery Network, and the show's 'full-name' has the suffix phrase of "The Questions of Our Life", after curiosity. The show tries to answer mysteries and certain queries within diverse fields like the human mind, history, archaeology, medicine, anthropology, nature, biology, space and history. While the show was being planned, Discovery's game-plan was to air twelve one-hour episodes each season for five years. However, when "Curiosity..." did premiere in August of 2011, it began a weekly broadcast schedule that ran the full first season, which ended with the 13th episode on November, 20, 2011. Similarly, the second season also followed the weekly format, between October 7, 2012 and January 27, 2013. Since then, there has only been one episode broadcast under the umbrella title of "Curiosity: The Questions of Our Life". This was the episode named "Stonehenge", which was shown on July 20, 2014. Two websites have emerged since the series debut, both of which deal with analogous subject matter, which achieve their individual goals strategically.

Two-part documentary which deals with two of the deepest questions there are - what is everything, and what is nothing? In two episodes, Professor Jim Al-Khalili searches for an answer to these questions as he explores the true size and shape of the universe and delves into the amazing science behind apparent nothingness. EVERYTHING: The first part, Everything, sees Professor Al-Khalili set out to discover what the universe might actually look like. The journey takes him from the distant past to the boundaries of the known universe. Along the way he charts the remarkable stories of the men and women who discovered the truth about the cosmos and investigates how our understanding of space has been shaped by both mathematics and astronomy. NOTHING: Explores science at the very limits of human perception, where we now understand the deepest mysteries of the universe lie. Jim Al-Khalili sets out to answer one very simple question - what is nothing? His journey ends with perhaps the most profound insight about reality that humanity has ever made. Everything came from nothing. The quantum world of the super-small shaped the vast universe we inhabit today, and Jim Al-Khalili can prove it

Wayne Carini continues to please his viewers with his sincere and passionate love of classic cars on his show. Chasing Classic Cars is a great reality show with a valid story-line where the host seeks out repairs refurbishes and sometimes restores as needed to bring these classics to market. One of the many reasons that this show is so successful is Wayne Carini is dedicated to fair business practices and has an incredible knowledge of not only classic cars but rare exotic cars. Wayne Carrini was indoctrinated to the classic car business with his father "Bob Carini'" who' specialty was restoration of classic cars including Duesenberg's, Ford, Packard's and Lincolns. "Reality Shows," that have substantially talented people always seem to be more successful than those where the producers are looking for shock value in foul language, low talent and tattoos which ultimately end up as being short lived. Chasing Classic Cars has done and will continue to do well on the Discovery Channel since 2008 because the show content is always original and "REAL!" The episodes are interesting, well thought out and always an honest representation of the problems and the outcomes of the vehicle adventure. The weekly stories where we see the sellers, the buyers, his staff and professional relations encountered are always entertaining to watch. This show is a great look into the story of some very interesting classic cars, their history, their owners and ultimate outcome.
